As shown in this small sample, Skip works in a variety of woods, including hardwoods such as maple, walnut, cherry, mahogany, mesquite, paduak, ebony, oak, and other species, as well as some softwoods such as pine and cedar. Woods are selected to suit clients' needs and desires.
Many pieces feature design elements which Skip imagines and creates himself: elk-skin upholstery, woven leather buttons, hand-forged iron hinges and pulls, antler buttons, decorative deerskin, and hand carvings, for example.
